Rogue Wave

Holy Cow it has been soo long since i posted on here sorry.  I am just gonna jump right into it.  It snowed this las weekend and when the seasons change usually my music taste changes with it. When its summer time im really into up beat hip hopy / pop rocky music.  Now that it is colder and snowy the music i usually choose to listen to is more mellow.  So lately I have gotten back into a band called Rogue Wave, thanks to a friend of mine, and thanks to a recent movie called Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist.  Rogue Wave plays pretty chill music and some of it can be very pretty.  I suggest you check out my favorite song, eyes, to see if you feel the same way about them as I do, which is feelings of AWESOMENESSSS.  Enjoi!
Check this link i dont think its the official music video but whatevs...

Love You Long Time

The long awaited next post is here!!!!!  The band I have chosen is called Love You Long Time.  This is a local Utah band who has quite a large fan base in the Utah area.  I had been hearing things about this band for the past year and a half but never took the chance to go and seem them play or to check out their music.  A week ago on Labor Day I was helping with the security for a large charity event at which Love You Long Time was scheduled to play.  Most of the people who had come to the event came to see Love You Long Time play even though they were not the headlining band.  They were, to say the least, amazing.  From the moment they started playing till their last song they brought an energy to the crowd of people that wasn't felt during any of the other seven bands that played.  The lead singer was dressed in 80s style clothes with vintage nike high tops and a kitty cat t-shirt.  As soon as I got home that night i purchased on of their EPs on Itunes.  Check them out I'm positive u will love them, and if u ever get a chance to see them live don't pass it up.  I will be loving Love You Long Time for a long time.

The Weepies

I'm sorry to the many few or none that have looked at my blog in the past week and seen no new posts.  I have been "busy".  So my post today is for a band called The Weepies.  I actually personally discovered the weepies a long time ago but today as i sat listening to them and reading about them I felt that they deserved to be my post.  The Weepies have a cool story the band is mainly Deb Talan and Steven Tannen if you check out both of their names you will see that they both have their own music careers under those names.  Steven and Deb met in 2001 at one of Steve's shows.  They became friends and started playing together.  They found that their music fit perfectly together just as their lives did and they got married.  They have since released three cds under the band name The Weepies.  In 2007 The Weepies added a new band member when Deb gave birth to a baby boy.  The Weepies music is soothing and melodic-al if you find your self stressed pop in any one of The Weepies releases and you will find yourself feeling much more relaxed.  The reason why this band made it onto my blog is not only because of their music but also because if I were to ever have a music career this is the way I would want to go.  Check them please..... The Weepies

P.S. check out this music video of one of thier songs.   Word Spins Madly On

Tornado Riders

Okay so to start off I decided to write about a band that I saw live last week when I was in San Francisco.  My friend Daniel and I decided to check out this little Jazz club that we walked past earlier that day it was called The Boom Boom Room.  The band playing there was called The Tornado Riders.  These guys were absolutely insane, and i don't mean like crazy good or anything i mean that they were mentally insane.  The lead singer kept saying things that made absolutely no sense whatsoever but it was quite entertaining.  The band consisted of the lead singer slash cello player, a bassist and a drummer.  The lead singer played the cello like no one that i had ever seen, he melted my face with some of the crazy cello solos that he did.  When you listen to their music you would think that the cello is just an electric guitar but its not. I owe these guys a shout out because they played for over 3 hours and kept me entertained the whole time.  If anyone ever gets the chance to see these guys live dont miss out on it.  You can go to http://www.myspace.com/tornadoriderband and check out how awesome these guys are and you can download a couple of their demos songs.  My personal favorite is Im a Falcon, because at the show the guy made everyone in the crowd wave their arms like they were flying the whole song.  As I said CRAZY!

The Weekly Music Update

So this is my first post, i am hopping to create a blog that helps others share in my joy for music.  I am constantly researching and finding new music.  For some people it wont be new but for some it will be.  My posts will have different moods because they will reflect the mood that I was in at the moment that I made the post and the music that I was listening to at that moment.  Enjoy.
